Asisat Oshoala: She is truly Agba baller – FIFA Celebrate Super Falcons Star

World football’s governing body, FIFA, has paid tribute to Nigerian star Asisat Oshoala, celebrating her remarkable performance at the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup.

FIFA’s official X account shared a video of Oshoala’s highlights from the tournament, captioning it, “Agba Baller, from the very start.”

The video showcased Oshoala’s outstanding contributions during the competition, where she was instrumental in Nigeria’s journey to a second-place finish. 

She emerged as the star of the tournament, scoring seven goals and earning both the Golden Boot and Golden Ball as the top scorer and best player, respectively.

Oshoala’s Stellar Career

Following her impressive performance at the youth level, she has continued to excel in her career. She was part of the Super Falcons team that won the 2014 African Women’s Championship and was named the African Women’s Footballer of the Year for the first time that same year.

She made history by becoming the first African player to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League, achieving this feat three times with Barcelona in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Historic Achievements

She has been crowned the Best Women’s Player in Africa four times, a record in African women’s football history. Her success on the international stage and her contributions to the Super Falcons and Barcelona have solidified her reputation as one of the greatest African footballers.

FIFA’s celebration of the Super Falcons’ 2014 heroics is a testament to her impact on the game and her journey from a promising youth player to a global football star.
