Former Super Eagles star takes coaching role at Premier League Club

Ipswich Town has boasted its Coaching Staff with Former Super Eagles Player Sone Aluko.

Ipswich Town, the recently promoted Premier League team, announced the appointment of Sone Aluko to their first-team coaching staff on Monday.

Aluko, a former winger for the Nigerian national team brings a wealth of experience to the role having just retired from professional football this summer.

Aluko is a familiar face at Ipswich Town, having played for the club for three seasons between 2021 and 2024.

Manager Kieran McKenna is excited to have Aluko on board, praising his work ethic and values.

“We’re delighted to add Sone to our coaching team,” McKenna said in a statement on the club’s official website.

“His work ethic and values have been important for the club over the last few years, and we know he will continue to bring those qualities to his new role.”

McKenna also highlighted Aluko’s existing relationships within the club, suggesting a smooth transition into his coaching duties, “Sone has strong relationships with players and staff at the club, and he will be a big addition for us.”

Aluko’s coaching qualifications are already underway, making him a valuable asset to the Ipswich Town coaching team.
