Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has joined Barnsley on a three-year deal.
The 26-year-old joins the League One side from Portuguese second-tier club Chaves for an undisclosed fee.
Nwakali contributed significantly to Chaves last season, scoring one goal and providing four assists.

He expressed his excitement about returning to England and the opportunity to make an impact at Oakwell.
“I knew this was an exciting opportunity for me, I know I can bring a lot to the team,” Nwakali told the club’s official website.
“I am looking forward to being back in England and making Oakwell my home for the next three years.”
Prior to his move to Chaves, Nwakali gained experience at several clubs, including Arsenal, where he began his career, and Spanish sides Huesca and Ponferradina.
Barnsley’s sporting director, Mladen Sormaz, is optimistic about Nwakali’s potential to strengthen the team.
“There is no doubt Kelechi is a really talented player who can offer Darrell something different,” Sormaz said.
