The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers kicked off on Thursday with two Nigerian group opponents in action.
The Mediterranean Knights of Libya National team were up against visitors Rwanda at Tripoli International Stadium.
At end of the final whistle, the two nations settled for a point after a 1-1 all draw in regulation time.
The hosts took the lead early in first half through Sobhi Al Mabrouk before USA-based forward Nshuti Innocent levelled the matters on return.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria begin the campaign to return to the continental showpiece over the weekend.
The three-time Africa Champions take on the Cheetahs of Benin Republic on Saturday, 7th September, 2024 in Uyo.
The two top finishers will qualify for the final tournament to be hosted in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
