The Super Falcons and Bay FC striker, Asisat Oshoala, made a significant statement against her former club, Barcelona Femeni, by scoring the opening goal in a friendly match.
Oshoala, fresh from her participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics with Nigeria, showcased her skills in the 17th minute, intercepting a pass from Barcelona’s goalkeeper and calmly slotting the ball into the net.
Despite Barcelona’s quick response through Kika Nazareth, Bay FC held their ground, leading to a 2-2 draw at halftime. However, Barcelona’s superior firepower ultimately proved decisive in the second half.
Following the match, Oshoala expressed her gratitude towards Barcelona, acknowledging the club’s significance in her career.
Bay FC will now turn their attention to their upcoming match against the Portland Thorns in the NWSL on Friday.
