After an epic clash at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, between Remo Stars and AS FAR of Morroco in the CAF Champions League preliminary round in Ikenne that ended 2-1.
The Sky Blues dominated in Ikenne, with Sodiq taking the spotlight; his precise cross allowed skipper Nduka to head in the opener.
AS FAR fought back, equalizing shortly after with a brilliant header of their own in the second half.

Sodiq then evoked memories of Robin Van Persie’s stunning goal against Spain in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, scoring a superb header to secure all three points for Remo Stars.
Reacting after the game, some fans of Remo Stars applauded the team for fighting against the North African Side.
Yomi Adeniran, “Remo Stars tried to win the match, they should have put in more effort when they travelled to Morocco.
Daniel Tosin added, “Remo Stars need to do better but at least they won the game which I’m very happy with”.

Akanni Waheed praised Remo Stars right back Sodiq Ismail and their captain Nduka Junior who both scored and assisted each other in the match, and both displayed a fantastic performance.
Joseph Tobi said, “I’m happy that Remo Stars won this match, it’ll keep them fit for the new NPFL season”.
Remo Stars will travel to Morocco this weekend for the second leg match against AS FAR a draw for the sky blue stars will put them in the second round of the competition.
