NPFL: Abia Warriors Claim Crucial Win Over Rivers United in Rescheduled Fixture

 The rescheduled Nigerian Premier Football League match between Abia Warriors and Rivers United took place on Wednesday afternoon, June 15th, 2024, at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

 Abia Warriors emerged victorious, defeating their opponents by a score of 2-0. The home side secured the win thanks to goals from Obi Samson and Meme Okike.

 Samson broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, dribbling past the Rivers United goalkeeper to put Abia Warriors in the lead. Meme Okike then sealed the win with a second goal in stoppage time.

 This victory propelled Abia Warriors to 10th position on the league table with 44 points accumulated in 32 matches played.

 Their next challenge will be an away fixture against Shooting Stars of Ibadan, who currently sit in fourth place. Shooting Stars will undoubtedly be looking to secure a win and maintain their position on the table.
