Onome Ebi set to make her debut with Naija Ratels in Edo

Super Falcons captain, Onome Edi set to make her debut for Naija Ratels against Edo Queens at the Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament, which begins on Monday (today) in Benin City.

The tournament, in its third edition, is an initiative of the wife of the Edo State Governor, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, in collaboration with private sector partners to groom and empower the girl-child and engender grassroots sports development in Edo State and Nigeria.

This year’s edition with the theme, “End Gender-Based Violence,” is targeted at raising awareness and generating public interest in the need to eradicate gender-based violence in all its forms and spotlights the efforts undertaken by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led government over the past seven years to combat gender-based violence in the State.

Edo Queens and Ratels are among the 13 teams that will battle for the N60m prize money on offer during the pre-season annual women’s football tournament.
