The Osun State Football Association (Osun FA) has announced a new initiative – the Osun State Women’s Football League – kicking off on August 31st, 2024. This news was officially revealed on the Osun FA’s social media platform.

The league will feature women’s football clubs from across Osun state, marking a historic first for women’s football in the region.

This initiative aims to empower young girls and support their aspirations to succeed in football. While specific venues haven’t been announced yet, the Osun FA board will reveal them soon.

Led by Mr. Sola Fanawopo, the Osun FA board seeks to elevate football development within the state and unearth talent at the grassroots level. This new league joins the ongoing Osun Smart City Football League, another successful project under Mr. Fanawopo’s leadership.
