This is the first time in the last few season that the league will not be play in abridged format. Hence the consistency of the team takes different dimensions this season.
Rangers international occupied the first position on the log with 57 points having proven that they can win the title this season, but Rangers coach fidelis ilechukwu said is focusing to build the formidable team for years and they’ll tackle every match one after the other. They have six matches to play in the league this season which they’re going to play four away matches and two home matches.

They’ll face tough opponent like Enyimba fc at home and shooting stars of in Ibadan which is not going to be easy for the Enugu base club. Meanwhile playing against Sporting Lagos away is going to be a difficult one for them and playing away to Gombe United can be a win because Gombe United might have relegated before the period. One will say Rangers are high scoring team recorded 46 goals this season only plateau United scored the same amount of goals. They’ll now be hoping to clinch their eighth league title this season. The last time they won the league was 2016.
Remo Stars is another club pushing to win their first league title occupied second position with 56 points. They’re have been doing wonderful well this season putting more energy and commitments to achieve their goals. They finished second last season behind Enyimba of Aba which Enyimba clinched the title with goals different. Daniel Ogunmodede will be hoping to lead the sky blue stars to their first league title ever.
They have six matches to play before the season ends. They’ll play Kwara United, Kano pillars, heartland fc sunshine stars, Lobi stars and katsina United, three matches at home and three matches away. Playing Lobi Stars away from home will be a difficult match for them and also playing away from home against relegation battling sunshine Stars of Akure will be a epic match. They’ll play their last matche at home against katsina United.

While defending champions Enyimba fc will be hopeful to clinch double in a row. They’re in third position with 55 points, pushing to win the league this will be a great achievement for the people elephant. Enyimba coach who just be appointed as the super eagle coach by the Nigeria football federation Finidi George will be hoping to make history for the club by being the first super eagle player to win the NPFL back to back.
They will play Rangers international, Sporting Lagos, Abia warriors, plateau United, Bayelsa United and Rivers United are the teams the Aba base club will face for the rest of the season. Three home matches and three away matches for them means they must utilize any chance they get during those matches in other to stand a chance to win the tittle.
Haven said that shooting stars and Lobi are also team to look out for in the tittle challenge occupying the fourth and fifth on the log with the same points (52) will also continue to push for the title.
