AFCON 2023: Jose Peseiro send big warning to Ivory coast ahead of second Game

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has come out in full confidence, assuring Nigerians that the second leg of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be a payback for the draw the team had against Equatorial Guinea.

Jose who further emphasize that the team needs to focus on the part of converting their chances, stating that they are really pressing hard on their opponents but it means nothing if it’s not converted to a goal.

Coach Jose also revealed that the African best player Victor Osimhen is fit and can do anything to shake the net in favour of Nigeria.

Peseiro also pleaded to Nigerians not to give up on believing the team as they prepare to face the host nation on Thursday.

According to Jose Peseiro, he said “Our team created a lot of chances in our last game, but we scored only one goal.

“If you want to win AFCON, you must be ready to face tough oppositions. So, we are ready, Cote d’Ivoire is a good team and one of the favourites.

“If we create the same opportunities and take our chances, then we have a better chance of winning against Côte d’Ivoire.”

Peseiro said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abidjan.
