Banyana goalkeeper Dlamini pulls out of Nigeria clash

Ambrose Ahimbisibwe

South Africa won’t be with one of their experienced goalkeepers Andile Dlamini in the ultimate round of the CAF Women’s Olympic qualifiers against Nigeria next month.

This was revealed to media by head coach Desiree Ellis upon return of Banyana Banyana players to national camp.

It was confirmed that the Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper apparently withdrew from the squad due to medical reasons.

A blow to the nation, the Africa champions will now have to look to the available options in her department.

In recent times Ellis has went on to trust Kaylin Swart since the FIFA Women’s World Cup expedition in New Zealand and Australia.

Nigeria host the first leg on 5th April, 2024 at MKO Abiola National stadium before the reverse fixture five days later in Pretoria.
