Confluence Queens confirm readiness for NWFL Premiership Super Six

One of the contenders for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership title, Confluence Queens have indicated their readienss to take the Super Six playoffs with all seriousness and focus.

The Lokoja based club ended second in Group A behind Nasarawa Amazons to pick one of the tickets for the championship playoffs.

The Coach Sabo Okala led side will jostle for the title along with Heartland Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens.

Team Manager of Confluence Queens, Mrs. Tosin Ojo Olorunleke stated that the photoshoot was not only to prepare for the playoffs but to also showcase the team’s unity and strong bond.

Mrs. Olorunleke expressed confidence that Confluence Queens will give their all for achieve greatness at the playoffs.

“We decided to take the photoshoot to showcase our strong bond and unity ahead of the playoffs.

“It has being our secret to what we’ve achieved so far and when the idea came about it, everyone embraced and we are happy it came out good.

“We intend to carry this positive mood to Yenagoa and we believe that together with our continued efforts to get better than how we fared in the regular season will give us happy ending we desire.

“We need to give something back to the management led by Mallam Abdulmalik Issa and the State government through Ministry of Youth and Sports for their tremendous support and encouragement all through the season and we believe we can do that by winning the Super Six,” she said.

Confluence Queens are expected to depart Lokoja for Yenagoa on Thursday ahead for the opening day stated for Saturday.

Their best ever finish in the league was second place in 2018 playoffs where they lost 1-0 in the final to Rivers Angels.
