Evolution Cup 2024: Organizers Unveil Participating Teams And Release Draws

Evolution Cup organizers have announced the groupings and fixtures for the second edition of the invitational preseason tournament on Tuesday.

The second edition of the NLO preseason tournament is scheduled to take place at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne between 12th and 18th of February, 2024.

Defending Champions of the tournament, SGFC Athletics have been placed in Group A alongside Rolly FC, Stars Builders FA and Mallam FA.

The runners up of the maiden edition, Beyond Limits Football Academy who lost to SGFC Athletics in the final of the first edition, will seek to win the tournament this year as they face Magic Stars, Adeyemi FC and Apex Krane FC in Group B.

Abraysports FC will lead Group C alongside Mighty Jets Feeders from Plateau, Hammola FC and Imperial FC.

Speaking after the groupings and fixtures were revealed on Tuesday, Olatoye Olawale, Project Strategist of Evolution Cup said everything is in place to have a better tournament this year at the ultra modern facility in Ikenne.

“Ikenne is the place to be between 12th-18th of February. We want to do better than the first edition and we are in the right direction. Everything is in place to have 12 teams compete and prepare themselves for the main season.” He said.

SGFC Athletics will play the opening game of the tournament against Rolly FC on Matchday One, while Beyond Limits will kickstart their campaign against Magic Stars immediately after the tournament opener.
