Remo Stars Ogunmodede, Others Nominated For LBA Monthly Awards

Remo Stars Coach Daniel Ogunmodede

Remo Stars Head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede and nine others have been nominated by the influential League Bloggers Awards (LBA) for the monthly Coach and Player Of the Month Awards in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The awards, which celebrate outstanding performers in the NPFL, has 2022/23 Coach of the Season, Daniel Ogunmodede and three others in the battle for the Coach of the Month for September and October 2023.

Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars picked up 9 points after winning two matches at home, one away, and losing the other away fixture.

Table-topping Rangers under the guidance of Fidelis Ilechukwu, alongside Gbenga Ogunbote’s Shooting Stars, are the other sides to have managed 3 victories so far, and one defeat.

Lobi Stars’ Eugene Agagbe is the other nominated manager for the monthly honour after his team picked up two points on the road in draws, and won the two matches played at their home ground.

Six top-performing players include: Jonathan Alukwu (Sporting Lagos), Kazeem Ogunleye (Rangers), Michael Olalusi (Sunshine Stars), Robert Mizo (Bayelsa United), Sikiru Alimi and Sodiq Ismail (both of Remo Stars).

The LBA is the foremost football organisation recognizing and celebrating outstanding performers in the NPFL since 2009 as well as the second tier Nigeria National League and the Women’s League.
