Former Manchester & England youth star chooses to play for Congo

The Congolese Association Football Federation ( Fecofa ) has confirmed that former Manchester United defender Alex Tuanzebe is now eligible to represent the leopards.

Now a player at Ipswich Town that competes in the English second tier, the 26 year old has decided to play for the country of his origin.

“ Alex Tuanzebe, native of Bunia and member of Ipswich Town in English D2, is now eligible and selectable to represent the leopards in the next international events. ” Fecofa posted on socials

Tuanzebe was in company of head coach Sebastian Desabre who is currently in Europe during this international window.

Further reports indicate that Leister striker Stephly Mavididi and Wan Bissaka of Manchester United are also the next in line to switch allegiance.
