Paris 2024: History beckons for Super Falcons at Olympics

Sixteen years later, Nigeria’s Women’s National Football team, the Super Falcons is back at the finals of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

The year 2008 was the last time the West African Nation featured at the prestigious competition, staged in Beijing, China.

Pooled in what seems the group of death, the nine-time Africa Champions remain buoyant, building confidence from last year’s performance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup expedition in New Zealand and Australia.

Under the tutelage of coach Randy Waldrum, reached round of 16 where they lost to England on penalty shoot-outs after a barren statement in 120 minutes of play.
