Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has reacted to his emergence as Rookie of the Season in the Bundesliga.

Boniface was nominated alongside RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, Borussia Dortmund’s Ian Maatsen, and Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim. Boniface has inspired Bayer Leverkusen as they are on a 50-game unbeaten run and are yet to lose a single game this season.

In his first 12 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen after his move from the Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, Victor netted 7 goals and provided 5 assists. He was awarded the Rookie of the Month for August, September, October, and November.

Despite suffering an injury during the Super Eagles’ preparations for the African Cup Of Nations, Boniface was able to recover and has impacted his team, scoring a goal and providing an assist on his comeback from injury.

On social media, responding to a post made by his club side Bayer Leverkusen, he appreciated his fans and affirmed the popular Nigerian slogan “9ja no dey carry last 🇳🇬. Thank You, Guys”.

Victor will be looking to continue his scintillating form for the Super Eagles as they prepare for their crunch World Cup qualifiers double-header against South Africa.
