Osun United emerged victorious against Ikorodu City FC in a hard-fought encounter held at the Kwara State Sports Complex for Matchday 14 of the Nigeria National League. Due to ongoing renovations at the Osogbo Township Stadium, Osun United played their home game in Ilorin.

The match started with both teams showing great preparation and determination. Osun United took the lead in the twelfth minute through Ismail Ayodele’s well-placed finish. Despite Ikorodu City FC’s attempts to level the score, Osun United’s solid defense, aptly dubbed the “Omoluabi Giants,” thwarted their efforts.

However, tensions rose when Ebenezer Odeyemi received a red card for a heated outburst after being booked by the center referee.

His suspension means he will miss Osun United‘s upcoming game against the Giant Brillars, a formidable opponent who managed to secure a point during their previous encounter in Osogbo.

With this victory, Osun United ascends to the top of the log in the Conference B group with 22 points. They now have six matches remaining to solidify their position and secure a spot in the NNL Super 8, which will determine promotion to the top division.
