NPFL: Sporting Lagos suffers first defeat of the season in South West derby

The newly promoted side, Sporting Lagos has suffered the first defeat of the season in the South West Derby to Remo Stars.

Remo Stars move to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League after a 2-1 win over Sporting Lagos in a tension soaked game.

Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Christian Nwoke conceded a goal for the first time this season after keeping clean sheets in three previous games.

Sporting Lagos went infront in the game after Jonathan Alukwu broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. But Remo Stars leveled the game 10 minutes later through Frank Mawuena. 

Sikiru Alimi scored the winning goal from the penalty spot, three minutes after the break after captain, Ozaveche Balogun handled the ball in his box.
