Coach Caleb Esu of Rovers Football Club, Calabar, has addressed the status of Clinton Ezekiel, currently representing the Flying Eagles at the African Games in Ghana.
Ezekiel, who has been a key player for Rovers, earned a call-up to the under-20 side of the National team following his standout performances.
In his absence, Treasure Okechukwu has stepped up, conceding only one goal and keeping two clean sheets in three games. When asked about Ezekiel’s role upon his return, Coach Esu emphasized that he would need to prove himself to regain his place in the team.
Esu stated firmly, “There is no special shirt for any player. You have to work for any position, and if he puts in the work and deserves it, he’ll get it.”
