Reactions continue to pour in as Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted the Nigerian senior national football team for a farewell dinner before their departure to Ivory Coast.
The dinner, a celebration of the team, garnered appreciation from fans who expressed their well-wishes for success in the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Sador Bell on X shared, “I wish them the best of luck,” while Akinwunmi Akinsola expressed gratitude to the governor, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Governor. We hope the Super Eagles will make Nigerians proud by winning the trophy.”
Amidst the optimism, Trombonist voiced concern about corruption in the national team and urged the government to address these challenges for the Super Eagles’ success.
The Super Eagles are set to depart from Murtala Muhammed Airport this morning, heading to Abidjan to face Equatorial Guinea in the opening game of AFCON.
