On Saturday 21st October, Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh and other dignitaries including HRM Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Oniru of Iru Land as well as the chairman of Ajeromi Ifelodu LGA Fatai Ayoola had a working visit to the new look Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Council of Lagos State to tour the facilities recently donated by Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi and Nigerian-German International Karim Adeyemi.
The entourage were welcome by the developer of the New Maracana and chairman of the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation Chief Yemi Idowu and other stakeholders including the Lagos Commissione of Youth and Sports Hon. Bolaji Ogunlende and the Oba moruf Atanda Oluwa,
The Olu of Iwa and Apapa Kingdom.
After touring the two residential buildings named after Wilfred Ndidi and Karim Adeyemi, the Minister and his entourage were impressed with each 96 bed fully airconditioned building. Each building will be completed with 24 hour power and Solar power backup, treated water supply and satisfactory shower and changing rooms. 5 buildings each with 96 beds are planned upon completion.
The Minister exchanged pleasantries with the school children and sport officials, he also shared his vision on youth sports development for Nigerians in the coming months.
The event was rounded up with an 11 a side football match played in honour of the Minister.
