Xabi Alonso Makes Decision on Liverpool move

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso has made his final decision regarding his future after months of speculation, with the former Liverpool legend deciding to commit his future to the current Bundesliga leaders, Bayer Leverkusen.

Xabi Alonso has been linked with top positions at Bayern Munich and Liverpool after it was announced that Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp will leave their respective clubs at the end of the season.

Speaking to the press, Xabi said, “I had a good meeting with Bayer Leverkusen and I informed them that I will stay and continue at the club.”

Speaking further, the former Spanish International said, “After a lot of talks about my future, I used the break to reflect and make my decision.”

“This is the place to be for me.”

“This is my first full season as a manager. I still have a lot of things to prove and experience. Right now, I have a situation where I feel really stable and happy.”

This will put an end to speculations linking Xabi Alonso away from the club, as he looks set to lead Bayer Leverkusen to the first Bundesliga title despite finishing runners-up five times, the highest in the history of German football.
