Ahead of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) kick off, the defending champions Delta Queens head coach Tosan Blankson has declared war against Ekiti Queens.
Blankson disclosed this in an interview ahead of the Season opener against Ekiti Queens at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ekiti on Tuesday.
He continued that the team is wary of the threat that will be poised by debutants Ekiti Queens.
He said, “The game against Ekiti Queens will be very tough, like you said they are debutant. Ekiti Queens as a name is new in the league, but the players are not new in the system. But I tell you victory is assured, they will be respected.
Delta Queens won the league with an unbeaten run last season.
NAIRA SPORTS reported that the league body confirmed groundbreaking development for women’s football enthusiasts with the eagerly awaited NWFL 2023–24 premiership season opener clash between Ekiti Queens F.C and Delta Queens to be broadcast live since the league’s inception in 1990 on afrosport.tv the official broadcasting partner for the NWFL 2023–24 season.
Also, the Nigeria Football Federation Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, NWFL boss Nkechi Obi and other dignitaries will be gracing the NWFL opening game in Ekiti as they will be welcomed by the Chief host, the Ekiti State First Lady, Dr.Oyebanji.
