South Africa has announced it’s final squad to battle rivals Super Falcons of Nigeria in the ultimate round of CAF Women’s Olympics qualifiers.
The Sasol-sponsored side welcomes back captain Refiloe Jane who has been out since last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Similarly, reliable and veteran defender Bambanani Mbane makes the 24 member roster.
University and Western Cape ( UWC) goalkeeper, Regirl Ngobeni, steps in for Andile Dlamini who pulled out due to medical reasons.
Usual suspects Linda Motlhalo, Jermaine Seoposenwe, and Tigres forward, Thembi Kgatlana have all been named.
The first meeting between the two nations comes on 5th April, 2024 at MKO Abiola Stadium before the return leg five days later in Pretoria.
The winner here represents Africa at the Women’s football event in Paris joining World Champions, Spain, Japan, and Brazil in group C.
