South Africa Women’s national team coach, Desiree Ellis remains optimistic that her side can over turn the result in Lagos and qualify for Olympic games at expense of rivals, Nigeria.
The African champions succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in the first meeting, captain Rasheedat Ajibade with the sole goal for the West Africans.
Ellis, will hope to see the girls put a fight till the final whistle Infront of a home crowd.
“Looking forward to the game tomorrow, we have looked at the footage [first game] as well. We know we are better than what we showed in Nigeria. We can do way better than that, and I think the second half showed how well we can play. It is a match we have to win,” said Ellis.
“We have to put everything into it to make sure that we get the goal early to be able to kickstart from there. We know it won’t be easy, Nigeria got the one goal advantage and we have to prepare for every eventuality.”
Scheduled to take place at Loftus Versfeld stadium, the ultimate winner here secures a ticket to represent Africa at the Summer women’s football event in France.
