Nkechi Obi tasks Desire Oparanozie to help grow Nigeria Women League

The chairperson of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, Nkechi Obi, has tasked Desire Oparanozie to help grow the home league with her pool of knowledge from playing across countries overseas.

Former Super Falcons captain Desire Oparanozie retired from professional football at 29 after winning the WAFCON four times and playing at the World Cup four times.

Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie announced her retirement from both country and club football at the age of 29.
In a post on her X account, Oparanozie confirmed her football career was over.

The chairperson of the NWFL charged the former Super Falcons star at the sent-forth party organized by Ladies in Sports in Lagos.

She said, “Desire is on board with our mandate. Here’s wishing her well as she closes one chapter of her football career. and opens another page, which we hope will be in support of NWFL’s Women Football Rising Platform. Go well, Desire!”

Naira Sports reported that NWFL will start on November 15 with 16 clubs.
