NNL: Madiba FC Defeats Smart City FC With 3-2

Madiba Football Club defeated Smart City FC to maintain their run of 3-2 in the ongoing 2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference, Group A Derby.

The match, which kicked off at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium, Lagos, had a massive turnout of spectators to witness the thrilling clash between the two Clubs.

Following the match goals review, Chukwudi Ekeocha of Smart City FC scored the opening goal in the 7th minute; this left the fans of both teams in high tension, waiting for the next move.

At the stroke of halftime, Fasina Samson of Madiba FC answered the call, scoring an equalizer at 45th-minute. The equalizer goal left the stadium with a roaring echo from the supporters.

The second half began within a blink of an eye. Adaralegbe Temitope of Madiba FC seized an opportunity with a stunning goal from a free kick at the 61-minute. Responding swiftly, Chukwudi Ekeocha of Smart City FC leveled the score at 2-2 in 76 minutes – almost close to the end of the match.

The Head Coach for Madiba FC, Solomon Bala, made a strategic substitution, introducing Aliu Solomon, Fadeyi Sunday, Isah Mohammed, and Anthony Ndubuisi to fortify the team’s front line.

In a few minutes to end the match, Anthony Ndubuisi secured the victory for Madiba FC with a decisive header in the 90th minute, solidifying a 3-2 triumph.

Meanwhile, Madiba FC will clash with Dakada FC in Uyo for their matchday-8.
