Onyinyechi Kalu: Meet NWFL’s fastest goal scorer

Heartland Queens attacker, Onyinyechi Kalu popularly known as Chachacha (chacharito) has grabbed the fastest goal of the 2023/2024 Nigerian women football league season record when she netted the curtain raiser against Royal Queens of Warri in the season’s opening fixture at the Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri on Wednesday.

Kalu achieved this feat at the dot of 53 seconds after slotting home a calculated pass from midfield meastro Oluchi Okwara to put Heartland Queens in front.

Heartland Queens went ahead to extend the scoring spree to 4-0 after Chidinma Anaele netted a long range freekick in the 9th minutes to qualify for the goal scored from the longest freekick range in this season.

Kelechi Orgii’s long range cross saw Royal Queens Gift Afigbeditor head the ball into her own net in the 18th minutes to put the Owerri side out of reach.

While Chinedu Chinaka’s header solidified the win in the 90th minutes to round it up at 4-0.

Heartland Queens now top the group table over next foe Nasarawa Amazons with goal difference and will now travel to Lafia to face fellow table toppers who defeated Naija Ratels away from home.

Kalu will retain the NWFL fastest goal records for now while the season rages on.
