Soccer Queens to reward NWFL outstanding players on Friday

The organisers of the Soccer Queens Awards have confirmed the date for the rewarding event.

The 2023 Soccer Queens Awards will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023.

All eyes will be at the media center of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, the venue of the awards on Friday.

14 awards are up for grabs in a bid to reward outstanding players and officials who distinguished themselves at the end of the 2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season.

According to the coordinator of the awards, Moses Bako Nagogo, the awards will cut across the three tiers of the NWFL namely; Premiership, Championship, and Nationwide.

For the top-flight NWFL Premiership, the awards for the most valuable player, golden boot, golden glove, best midfielder, best defender, and coach of the season will be presented.

As far as the second and third-tier NWFL Championship and Nationwide is concerned, the most valuable player, highest goal scorer, best goalkeeper, and coach of the season will be honoured.

The awards seek to reward and motivate outstanding players and officials as well as spur them towards better performances for the forthcoming 2023/2024 league season.

This is the maiden edition of the awards which is expected to be an annual event henceforth.
