Coach of Akwa United, Fatai Osho, has criticized his Strikers for their inability to convert chances after they played out a goalless draw against ‘noisy Lagosians,’ Sporting Lagos.
In a game in which Akwa United looked to build off scoring three goals away at Yenogoa, they struggled even with the return of Uchenna Collins to the team.
Fatai Osho made the comments while speaking to the press after the game. He said, “The quality in the attack let us down. It’s worrisome with the attack we’ve got, and we have to work on them because they are the attackers we have on the ground.” He stated, “It is so unfortunate. We created glorious chances, four big chances, and we can’t convert any of them. It’s amazing and unbelievable.”
The experienced Coach also stated that they were able to create chances like they did against Bayelsa United, but the strikers lacked the composure. He said, “What made us score three goals we created the chances here, just that the striker lacked the awareness in front of goal, and unfortunately, the quality in that attack is abysmal,” he said.
Fatai Osho will be looking to fire up his team as they face league champions Enyimba next, after the draw left them in 18th position on the log.
