Salah left out of Egypt squad for March international break

Ahead of the upcoming FIFA International break, new Egyptian head coach Hossam Hassan has exempted Liverpool star Mohamed Salah from Pharaohs roster.

In the 25 member squad named by Hassan, the 31 year old is one of the notable faces missing out.

The news comes with warm reception in mersycerside city and Liverpool fans who haven’t watched much of their star player in action for the last months due to injuries.

While at 2023 Africa Cup of Nations( AFCON ) in January, Salah sustained an injury in Egypt’s 2-2 all draw with Black Stars of Ghana on matchday two.

The player pre-maturely left the tournament to embark on road to recovery from the Reds camp.

Despite making return in February against Brentford, the injury recurred before his midweek appearance in Europe League action.

The exclusion could be attributed to the factor that Salah is seeking return to full fitness, hence the decision to drop him.

Egypt, is set to feature in the first edition of Winsunited Cup in United Arab Emirates, running from 22nd-26th March, 2024.

The tournament will also attract three other nations namely 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia, New Zealand, and Tunisia.
