Super Eagles edge Black Stars 2-1 in tough duel in Marrakech

The Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr, is set to announce his squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Nigeria and Libya.

One of the notable names that could potentially receive a call-up is Colin Dagba, a right-back for Paris Saint-Germain.Dagba has expressed his interest in representing Benin Republic at the international level.

The Cheetahs are expected to kick off their preparations for the qualifiers this weekend. Their first match will be a crucial encounter against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 7th.

This match holds added significance as Benin Republic recently secured their first-ever victory over Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Following their clash with Nigeria, the Cheetahs will host Libya at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan for their second matchday tie on Tuesday, September 10th.

Rohr will be tasked with assembling a competitive squad capable of navigating these challenging qualifiers and securing a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
