In a promising start to his tenure, newly appointed Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Finidi George, has emphasized his strong bond with the current team.
George’s confidence in his relationship with the players was evident during the unveiling ceremony at the media center of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. Signing a one-year contract with the Nigerian Football Federation, the former Nigerian international aims to lead the Eagles to World Cup qualification.
Addressing the media, George stated, “I’ve been with the team for 20 months now, and I can assure you that my relationship with the players is excellent. As an Assistant and now as Head Coach, I’m committed to maintaining and improving this bond.”
He added, “You won’t hear any controversies regarding my relationship with the players. It’s perfect.”
George’s immediate focus will be on the upcoming double header against Benin and South Africa next month, where he seeks to reignite Nigeria’s qualification campaign. With his emphasis on unity and respect, George aims to foster a winning mentality within the team.
