The Nigeria Football Federation has unveiled the ex-super international as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
The former Real Betis winger was appointed after the departure of Jose Peisero. Finidi George was the assistant for Jose Peisero who got Super Eagle to the final of Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Jose Peisero left Super Eagle after his contract expired. Finidi was appointed as the interim coach of Super Eagle for the two friendly matches against Ghana and Mali, in which he won one and lost to Mali.
Finidi George was appointed by Nigeria premier football league club side Enyimba FC in 2021, he was instrumental for the Aba-based club leading them to their 9th league title last year.
The former Mallorca player will be in charge of the super eagle coach as the substantive Head Coach forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in June. He will leave is job at Enyimba fc to focus on super eagle job
