NWFL: We won’t miss Omokwo and others – Blackson reveals ahead of new season

NWFL: Mercy Omokwo joins Bayelsa Queens

Ahead of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) kick off, the defending champions Delta Queens head coach Tosan Blankson has revealed that his team won’t miss Mercy Omokwo and others who left the team.

NAIRA SPORTS reported that 2023 NWFL top scorer Mercy Omokwo joined Bayelsa Queens from Delta Queens.

Omokwo was an instrumental in Delta Queens NWFL Premiership title win last season.

Blankson in an interview ahead of the season, he revealed that the new players have been integrated into the team.

He said, “The newly recruited players in the team are not much. After the season few players left and we are aware of the positions,  so recruiting any new player must be positions that those players that left are playing.  So it’s very easy to integrate them into the fold.”
