Onilekki Ramadan Cup: Nurudeen Yakub’s lone goal gives De Future first win

Nurudeen Yakub’s lone goal was what De Future Stars needed to defeat the defending champions, Young Strikers in the opening ceremony of the Annual Onilekki Ramadan lecture.

The Fifth edition of the Onilekki 8 Aside Ramadan Cup commenced on the Third Day of Ramadan (Wednesday 13/03/2024) with Young strikers battling De Future stars 

The championship which was sponsored by Onilekki of Lekki, Oba Aliazim Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun will end on the day of idl-fitr.

Yakub scored the lonely goal in the second half after his solo effort passed behind the goalkeeper of Young strikers.

Reacting after the win, Yakub confirmed to NAIRA SPORTS that he would help his team win the championship.

He added that his team is ready for the challenge and will work hard to deserved results at the end of the championship.

The winner will go home with the sum of #500,000 and a new set of jerseys while the First runner-up will earn #300,000 and the second-runner up gets #200,000.
