Otukpo Bank Robbery: Lobi Stars FC Dedicates Victory Over Abia Warriors in Memory of Victims

The Lobi Stars Football Club in Makurdi dedicated its victory over Abia Warriors FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day four to the victims of the bank robbery attack at Otukpo town in Benue state which claimed many lives.

The Makurdi based side defeated Abia Warriors by 2-0, which comes after the earlier postponement as a result of the mourning mood in Benue state.

The Chief Executive Officer for Lobi stars FC, Dominic Iorfa expressed that the victory would act as a relief for the entire people of Benue state who were thrown into mourning by the dastardly act of the armed robbers.

“This is dedicated to the memories of the deceased and the families of those who were affected by the sad incident,” he said.

He also added that “May God grant the souls of all the departed eternal rest and for the quick recovery to the injured.”

The Match Day four has the attendance of the Deputy Governor of Benue state, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode; Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Hyacinth Aondona; Honourable Commissioner of Youths, Sports and creativity Benue state Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange; Nasarawa state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Jafaru Ango; Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa state Ministry of Youth and Sports Chief. Barr. Isaac Danladi.

Others are Special Assistant for Media to the Honourable Minister of Sports Development Mr Kola Daniel; Former Executive Secretary of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria and Director of Football ABS FC Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka; Chairman of Abia Warriors FC, Chief John Obuh and host of other sports personalities.
