The race for the NNL Super 8 playoffs is heating up, with Southern Conference B emerging as a battleground for several ambitious clubs.

Ikorodu City FC currently holds the top spot with 33 points, needing just a win against Giant Brillars FC to secure their place. This relatively young club, established only two years ago, has impressed with their performance so far.

Hot on their heels is Inter Lagos, another private club established last year. Currently in second with 29 points, they have two matches remaining – an away clash with Crown FC of Ogbomosho and a home game against Ijebu United. With promotion to the top flight on their sights, Inter Lagos is determined to finish strong.

Warri Wolves, a club aiming for a return to the top tier, sits in third place with 28 points. They have one final match against Solution FC to solidify their position in the qualification chase.

The fight for the remaining spots is equally intense. Crown FC of Ogbomosho, currently in fourth with 27 points (tied with Osun United), has two games left. Victories against Inter Lagos (home) and FC One Rockets (away) are crucial for their play-off aspirations.

Osun United, yearning for a return to the premier league after nearly two decades, shares the fourth-place position with Crown FC. However, they are separated by goal difference. With two matches remaining – a home game against Tradesafe FC and an away fixture against Gateway United – Osun United needs not only to win both games but also score heavily to improve their chances. Additionally, favorable results from other matches could also play a role in their qualification.

This tight competition promises an exciting conclusion to the NNL Southern Conference B season. Only time will tell which clubs will emerge victorious and advance to the NNL Super 8 Play-Offs.
