Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho is on the verge of joining Spanish La Liga club Sevilla.
The 27-year-old arrived in Spain on Tuesday night to undergo a medical and finalize the details of a two-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
Iheanacho becomes a free agent after his contract with Leicester City expired, marking a new chapter in his career. He previously played for Manchester City in the Premier League, amassing a total of 42 goals and 25 assists across 196 appearances.
The move reunites Iheanacho with his Nigerian teammate, Chidera Ejuke, who joined Sevilla earlier this summer. This bolsters Sevilla’s attacking options and shows their commitment to investing in young Nigerian talent.
With the medical formalities underway, Iheanacho’s move to Sevilla is expected to be confirmed soon.
