Rivers Angels forward, Adugbe Olamide, is eyeing a goal-scoring feat as she sets her sights on netting 15 goals in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).
The league is gearing up to recommence after its mid-season break, with Rivers Angels gearing up to face Fc Robo of Lagos in their first post-break game.
With just seven games remaining in the regular season, Olamide is determined to achieve a 15-goal milestone. The skilled forward has already scored three goals this season, contributing to her team’s success, including a crucial goal in their 1-0 victory over Osklean Football Academy during the mid-season hiatus.
Expressing her ambition, Olamide stated, “My goal target for the season is 15, though I have scored three. I’m giving my best effort in the second round.” She further shared with the media, “It’s been great with the team ever since we got back from the short break.” Looking ahead, Olamide aims to secure consecutive goals for the first time as the season resumes, emphasizing, “We are preparing as a team, and personally, I’m set to achieve back-to-back goals, with an eye on the Player of the Month accolade as well.”
Rivers United is poised to host their initial two games at home, currently holding the top spot in Group B standings with 14 points after seven games, maintaining a two-point lead over second-place Bayelsa United.
