The nine-time African champions had a promising start, dominating possession in the initial stages and creating a good chance through Rasheedat Ajibade. Unfortunately, the striker’s effort was unable to find the back of the net.
Brazil, led by their captain Marta, proved to be a formidable opponent. Although Marta’s early goal was ruled offside, she played a crucial role in setting up Nunes’ decisive strike.
The second half saw the Super Falcons struggle to find a way back into the game. Their next challenge is against the reigning FIFA World Cup champions, Spain, on Sunday.
