Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, the D’Tigress, have issued a rallying cry, promising to leave the Paris Olympics with more than just a gold medal.
This comes after their impressive opening victory against the world No. 3 ranked Australian team.
An official of the D’Tigress took to their social media platform to express their gratitude for the overwhelming support they received following their historic win.
“We really want to thank everyone so much for all the love we’ve received as a team yesterday,” the tweet read. “It really meant a lot to us. Truly, now that the dust has settled, we are mentally locked in more than ever.”
“Momentum was our focus word today in practice. One win is not enough. We are not going to settle for that! We made history.
“Regardless of any outcome, we stay the course, we stay together and we keep our eyes on the prize. We are not leaving here empty handed.”
