KJ Viktoria Emerges Champions Of Bet9ja Foundation Football Competition

KJ Viktoria have emerged the champions of the maiden edition of the Bet9ja Foundation Football Competition at the Ejigbo mini stadium, Lagos.

Both sides played a barren draw in regulation time as the game was settled in the penalty shootout which KJ Viktoria came top 5-4 by defeating Great Success FC.

The game was an excruciating encounter as both sides were familiar foes that battled hard to gain momentum in the game.

The first half produced no goal as both sides resumed hostilities in the second half.

KJ Viktoria had the most clear cut chance in the second half but the effort was set wayward off the goal post in the 77th minute.

The encounter couldn’t produce any goal in 90 minutes as the center referee signalled for the game to go straight to penalty shootout.

KJ Viktoria were the stronger side in the penalty shootout as their goalkeeper saved three spot kicks against two spot kicks saved by Great Success goalkeeper.

BYT Academy, Christian Uwandu was adjudged the highest goal scorer of the tournament as he head the goal scorers chart with five goals.

KJ Viktoria Tobi James was the Player Of The Tournament following his match winning contributions to his side.

Great Success FC Maxwell Usoro won the award for the best goalkeeper of the tournament with his great reflexes and great goalkeeping skills which endeared him the award.
