NWFL: Heartland Queens goalkeepers in high mood ahead of season opener

Heartland Queens football club of Owerri will be hosting Royal Queens of Warri at Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri on Wednesday November 15th at 1:00.pm for the Nigerian Women football league opening fixture.

History is about to repeat itself again this year as Royal Queens and Heartland Queens kicked off their NWFL campaign last season and as well ended the campaign together at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri but this time, the same fixture and just a little adjustment to venue schedule.

Heartland Queens Vs Royal Queens encounter has occurred three times in the last one year and this will be the fourth meeting in the space of two years.

The Owerri Landladies triumphed in all three encounters with slim win margin.

Recall that the first encounter was at the same home pitch of Royal Queens in Warri where Heartland Queens piped Royal Queens 1-0 to set off their league campaign on a high note.

The second meeting was the reverse fixture at the Dan Anyiam stadium when Heartland Queens rounded up their season with an emphatic 2-0 victory over Royal Queens.

The most recent encounter was a neutral venue for both teams at the Betsy Obaseki Women Football tournament in Benin where Heartland Queens also won the Warri based side 2-1 in the group opening fixture.

So far Heartland Queens vs Royal Queens has occurred three times with Heartland Queens maintaining a perfect winning streak in all three encounters.

Heartland Queens are pumped up ahead of Wednesday’s encounter while Royal Queens will attempt to break the winless jinx against the Owerri Landladies.
