Olowookere happy with Ajakaye's move to Madrid

The coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, Bankole Olowookere, has expressed his happiness following the transfer of Opeyemi Ajakaye from Robo Queens to Madrid CFF in Spain.

Ajakaye and Esther Onyenezide joined the Spanish club on Wednesday.

In a chat with PUNCH Sports Extra, the Flamingos coach said he was thrilled to learn of the big development in the youngster’s career.

“I am really happy for Ajakaye and words can’t actually express how I feel right now,” he told PUNCH Sports Extra.

“I’ve known her since she was very little and I knew she was destined for greatness because she is a player who is always willing to give her all and very disciplined.

“She started with me when I was in Lagos and she was part of Team Lagos for a sports festival but she couldn’t attend due to a reason. She has never stopped working and when it was time for the U-17 Women’s World Cup it was easy for me to call on her because I already worked with her and knew what she was capable of.
