Paris 2024: Wrestling Federation  apologizes to Nigerians

The Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) has issued an apology to Nigerians for the underwhelming performance of the country’s wrestlers at the recently concluded Paris Olympics.

Daniel Igali, the President of the NWF, expressed regret over the team’s failure to meet expectations.

He highlighted the Federation’s previous successes on the global stage, which had raised hopes for a strong showing at the Olympics.

“We also apologize to Nigerians for not reaching the climax that we set for ourselves,” Igali said.

“In the past, there was no Federation in Nigeria’s history that has won six world championships. It is only the Wrestling Federation.”

Upon their return to Nigeria, the NWF hosted a reception to honor the wrestlers. Despite the disappointing results, the Federation acknowledged their efforts and dedication in representing the country at the highest level of competition.
