Remo Stars FC have emerged victorious as champions of the Value Jet Preseason Tournament. The Sky Blue Stars defeated Ikorodu City FC by 2-1 in a thrilling final.
Seth Mayi was the star of the show for Remo Stars, scoring both goals in the 26th and 68th minutes. Ikorodu City managed to pull one back through Otaniyi Taofeek in the 88th minute, but it was too little too late.
This is Remo Stars’ second title in the competition, having previously won the inaugural edition. They will now participate in the Coal City Cup as part of their pre-season preparations for the upcoming NPFL season and the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The tournament serves as a valuable platform for teams to fine-tune their squads before the start of the domestic league and continental competitions.
