South Africa starts preparations for Super Falcons showdown

South Africa women’s national team, Banyana Banyana have already gotten down to business ahead of their crunch CAF Olympic qualifier against traditional rivals Nigeria.

The Desiree Ellis coached side had their first official training session on Tuesday at the Tuks High Performance Centre ( HPC).

A group of 23 local based players were present in camp with foreign stars yet to report.

Two players were confirmed to have withdrawn from the qualifiers, first choice goalkeeper Andile Dlamini and Samkelisiwe Selana.

A final squad for the two-legged affair is set to be announced on Thursday 28th March, 2024.

It should be noted that the winner here automatically secures the flag to represent Africa at Olympic finals in Paris.
